Great Zoo Exhibit: Minnesota Trail

Many zoos have gone the route of designating an area filled with wildlife from their state.  It is a great way to get people interested in protecting their local resources as well as housing animals that are already adapted to the climate of the area.  Many of these exhibits are well done.  However, I think …

Great Zoo Exhibit: Tropics Trail

As my oldest daughter said, “it is a never-ending rainforest.”  The Tropics Trail is a wonderful immersion exhibit found at the Minnesota Zoo. It’s my daughters favorite exhibit.  Easy to see why.  Lots of fun entertaining animals to see.  Tons of variety as well as a large aquarium enclosure.  The Tropics Trail really had it …

Austin Zoo – Texas

Austin Zoo is not your typical zoo and would be more suitably called a sanctuary.  It takes in unwanted exotic animals and gives them a place to live.  We have been to other animal sanctuaries and support them in what they do.  However, when I tell my 5-year-old we are going to a zoo she …

Birmingham Zoo

rp_27686817411_4a5b102349_z.jpg

The Birmingham Zoo was a get out of the car and walkabout stop for us.  Heading out on long drives was never a lot of fun but with two young ones in tow it can be excruciating.  Luckily there always seems to be something to see or do in this great land. So as we …

Chattanooga Zoo

Woo Woo! The little Chattanooga Zoo Zoo.  Oh wait… I think that was so supposed to be Choo Choo.  Either way for a family with two little ones the Chattanooga Zoo was a fun family outing.  At just over a dozen acres this is probably the smallest zoo we have ever reviewed.  I will say …
