Fall Creek Falls: Tennessee Waterfall

rp_26517515593_6f70f5f167_z.jpg

Fall Creek Falls is Tennessee’s largest waterfall.  Located in Fall Creek Falls State Park.  One of the best state parks that I have ever visited.  My trip there was a basically a drive by but still got to see some stunning scenery.  Also realized that a drive by is not going to cut it next …

Chattanooga Zoo

Woo Woo! The little Chattanooga Zoo Zoo.  Oh wait… I think that was so supposed to be Choo Choo.  Either way for a family with two little ones the Chattanooga Zoo was a fun family outing.  At just over a dozen acres this is probably the smallest zoo we have ever reviewed.  I will say …

BASE OF FALL CREEK FALLS TRAIL: Tennessee

rp_26319880133_c0e696f524_z.jpg

Base of Fall Creek Falls Trail was the only trail that we had time for in our drive to Chattanooga.  Obviously not enough time for this marvelous state park.  Filled with waterfalls, hiking trails, and various other activities.  Fall Creek Falls State Park is the gem of the Tennessee State Park System.  Home to the …

Fort Negley: Bastion of Nashville

rp_26238032034_355f4ae5dd_z.jpg

Fort Negley is a nice stop to escape the car.  Free, nice path to stretch the legs on, a little Civil War history, and an informative visitor center.  Not the greatest attraction in Nashville. However, if you are in a pinch to get the kids out and about Fort Negley will get the job done. …

Twin Falls: Rock Island State Park

rp_26704563015_d17aa5fa85_z.jpg

Twin Falls was the reason we hit Rock Island State Park as we driving from Cookeville Tennessee to Chattanooga.  The state park has plenty offer.  But if you are like us and don’t have enough time, Rock Island State Park is still a good visit.  Most things are right off the park road.  Also the …

Rock Island State Park

rp_26704568085_b179939d7e.jpg

Rugged beauty, historic buildings, epic waterfalls, and hiking is what Rock Island State Park has to offer.  Unfortunately, our day trip through the area did not afford the time to do all that.  In fact, I would not even call it a day trip.  More of a vacation survey. What we found out was we …

Cummins Falls Trail

rp_26628988295_7daaf20bc5_z.jpg

Cummins Falls Trail, the perfect day hike for the adventurer in all of us.  Not too long.  Has wonderful scenery.  A little difficult to get to, but not bad enough to scare hikers away.  The payoff is a wonderful waterfall whose base is one of the great swimming holes in the United States.  This Cummins …

Cummins Falls State Park

rp_26295467440_acb2a28d46_z.jpg

Breathtaking… pretty much sums up a visit to Cummins Falls State Park.  A rugged little park with just enough adventure for the weekend warrior.  Cummins Falls State Park is a 211-acre day-use park located in what I would call the heart of Tennessee’s waterfall country.  Home to Cummins Falls, a 75-foot-high waterfall and Tennessee’s 8th …

Tennessee Safari Park

rp_25946935224_2b622c7fbc_z.jpg

We had good times all around at the Tennessee Safari Park.  Just a short drive off I-40 not far from Memphis this drive through safari is a must see.  Large variety of animals.  A very reasonable price.  Arguably the largest feed bucket we have ever been given at safari park.  All-in-all a great bang for …

Tennessee Aquarium

rp_14259574791_675fdfdc1e_z.jpg

The Tennessee Aquarium offers a top notch aquarium experience that should not be missed if you ever find yourself in Chattanooga, Tennessee.  My wife and I were a little hesitant about visiting the Tennessee Aquarium because we had just shelled out so much money to see the very well done Georgia Aquarium.  After discussing and …
