rp_30872490456_eb7ed0eff4_z.jpg

Slide Rock State Park is a wonderful state park in Arizona.  Having a group of teenage boys (boys cross country team) with me on this trip I knew it would be a place they would enjoy.  First of all, it was a natural waterside and second a chance to jump off a small cliff.  Slight …

Wyoming Dinosaur Center

My oldest daughter is dino-crazy.  So, we just had to make the drive to the Wyoming Dinosaur Center one of the premier dinosaur museums in the United States.  She was not disappointed.  Giving McKenna the chance to see over 30 mounted skeletons including a Supersaurus which is super by the way.  At 106 feet there …

Thermopolis… sounds like the hometown to a magma inspired superhero.  It just might be your marvelous spot after a soak in its free bath house.  Hot Springs State Park is Thermopolis best attraction.  Famous for being the home to the world’s largest mineral hot spring.  Where everyday over 8,000 gallons of mineral water bubble up …

Fall Creek Falls is Tennessee’s largest waterfall.  Located in Fall Creek Falls State Park.  One of the best state parks that I have ever visited.  My trip there was a basically a drive by but still got to see some stunning scenery.  Also realized that a drive by is not going to cut it next …

Twin Falls: Rock Island State Park

rp_26704563015_d17aa5fa85_z.jpg

Twin Falls was the reason we hit Rock Island State Park as we driving from Cookeville Tennessee to Chattanooga.  The state park has plenty offer.  But if you are like us and don’t have enough time, Rock Island State Park is still a good visit.  Most things are right off the park road.  Also the …

Rock Island State Park

rp_26704568085_b179939d7e.jpg

Rugged beauty, historic buildings, epic waterfalls, and hiking is what Rock Island State Park has to offer.  Unfortunately, our day trip through the area did not afford the time to do all that.  In fact, I would not even call it a day trip.  More of a vacation survey. What we found out was we …

Cummins Falls State Park

rp_26295467440_acb2a28d46_z.jpg

Breathtaking… pretty much sums up a visit to Cummins Falls State Park.  A rugged little park with just enough adventure for the weekend warrior.  Cummins Falls State Park is a 211-acre day-use park located in what I would call the heart of Tennessee’s waterfall country.  Home to Cummins Falls, a 75-foot-high waterfall and Tennessee’s 8th …

Beavers Bend is THE family outdoor destination in southeastern Oklahoma.  Located alongside Broken Bow Lake, Beavers Bend has just about all a person needs to get away from the rat race.  Time was in a ‘no passing zone’ once we were in the park.  There was just something about the place that made it very easy …
