Dry Tortugas National Park has long been on our bucket list though about 5 years ago we had reservations to on one of the boats that make the trip out to the island. That particular Florida vacation was a greatest worst vacation we have ever been on. I call it the greatest worst vacation because the worst part was my wife was under the weather the whole time and greatest because still to this day we laugh about all the little things that happened on it. Nevertheless we did not make it out to Dry Tortugas National Park and furthermore since then we have never been back to Florida hopefully we can remedy both of those things in the near future.
So why Dry Tortugas? Well, it pretty much has everything we both like beautiful aquamarine water, good snorkeling opportunities, history, and wildlife viewing. Dry Tortugas National Park can only be reached by private boat, seaplane (our choice if we ever get to go) or a 3 hour ferry boat ride. It is one of the more challenging national parks to get to and is definitely at the top of our Bucket List.
