Photography Tip: Tripod don’t Leave Home without it

Laurel FallsA couple of weeks ago I was lucky enough to spend a day waterfall chasing in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.  It was my second time to that particular national park and was so glad this time around I had my tripod with me.  A few years ago for a Christmas present I received a very nice Manfrotto Tripod for Christmas and was excited to go back to some old vacation spots and see if I can improve on the pictures I took the first go around.

Now my first trip to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park I was able to get some nice photos but I did not own a tripod at that time.  After spending some time the last few years going to Yellowstone and the Smokies on vacation my pictures have taken a turn for the better since owning a tripod. Though it will add a little extra weight to any particular hike having a tripod has certainly paid off in the end for me.

You can definitely see the deference between the before using a tripod and after shots in the pictures below. So next time you are out taking landscape photographs especially of waterfalls make sure you take a tripod with you.  Abrams FallsAbrams Falls Tripod
