A Super Bowl to Remember

A Super Bowl to Remember, with a title like that you might be thinking that we are really big Seahawks fans, and while we were happy to see the Broncos lose we are not Seahawks fans.  My wife, Karen, had never seen an entire football game until she met me and Karen now passively follows my favorite team the Kansas City Chiefs.  If it was not who won that will make this year’s super bowl stick in our memories and it certainly was not the excitement the game produced because it was over well before halftime, what was it?Bad NightRight before halftime we felt and heard something that sounded like an enormous earthquake.  I jumped up from the couch, told Karen to get M our 19 month old daughter and I headed to the door to see what was going on because earthquakes last much longer than what we felt.  I saw some flashing yellow lights and tried to wrap my mind around the fact there was a car sticking out of the side of our house.  I quickly grabbed my shoes and went outside into the frozen snow amidst a blaring continuous car horn sound to see if the driver was even alive.

Not to get into many details everybody is okay, the person that was driving the car had somebody above looking out for them because they missed about a half dozen trees on their way to our house.  We were a little shaken up by the whole ordeal but we were able to keep smiles on our face when we realized that everybody survived including the driver.  Besides the fact nobody was seriously injured the other amazing thing is that our baby girl slept through the whole ordeal- the crash, car horn, ambulance, fire trucks, police sirens, everything!  So while we did not watch much of the game it will be a super bowl to remember for our family.  Keep us in your thoughts as we attempt to clean up the mess and get our home patched back up.

Thank you so much Allison, we are definitely thanking God for his protection of us, our family as well as the driver of the vehicle. Thanks for your thoughts!

I notice there are no tracks in the snow behind the car. Looks like the car was airborne. Wonder how fast he was traveling?

Isn’t that CRAZY!! The police told us he must have been airborn most of the time he was traversing our yard! Unbelievable!
