Landscape Photography Number 25: Cathedral Rock

Cathedral RockTaking a picture of Cathedral Rock in Sedona, Arizona has become just one of those places that any American photographer has to capture, like it is a rite of passage up there with Delicate Arch, Oxbow Bend, or Maroon Bells.  Knowing that I am not going to be adding anything new to the table at Red Rock Crossing since it is arguably one of the most photographed spots in the American Southwest, I just wanted to get a good picture for my vacation scrapbook, soak it in, and be on my merry way.

This particular photograph was taken at a place called Red Rock Crossing in Sedona, Arizona.  It is a federal run park so if there is ever a shutdown again the park might be closed.  There is an entrance fee to enter and the lighting is best from mid-afternoon to dusk.
