Sunday Scripture: Matthew 26:41

Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Over the last two weeks Karen and I have decided to start eating healthy. We do not want to call it a diet though to me it seems like it is, but in reality I can eat as much as I want as long as it is meat, fruits vegetables, and certain types of seeds or nuts.  We are trying to live a primal lifestyle which you can read about at Mark’s Daily Apple.   Two weeks and still going strong though I do not think that I will ever enjoy eggplant pizza, but we have both been losing weight and feeling better.  So I will keep trying to fight the temptation of eating all those things I do enjoy.

My sugar intake was a little out of control craving donuts, sweet-tarts, and just about everything in between.  So needless to say when I agreed to go primal with Karen I was a little apprehensive about giving up all those “good” things.  After two weeks I can proudly say that I have had no candy, grains, or pastries.  I probably have never eaten  so healthy in my life, but everyday it’s a fight to not go and grab a handful of chips or those wonderful ice cream cookie bars in our freezer.  This week I decided to use Matthew 26:41 “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak” as this week’s Sunday Scripture.  I pray that I can stay strong in the face of temptation and I know that with God all things are possible.  So if I keep the focus on Him I will have the strength to carry on.
