M’s week 23

M week 23

23 week photo

We had a super fun week this week, we got to go and visit Neil and Julie and meet their precious little newborn, M’s cousin.  It is about a four hour car drive from where we live and M road like a champ once again.  We only had about twenty minutes of upset-ness and Kenny figured out that it is because when it gets dark he can no longer entertain her with her books and toys.

We had such a great time visiting our family and their little girl is just the cutest sweetest little thing.  I can hardly remember M being that small.  We dressed the girls alike and did a fun little photo shoot of them together.  It was so sweet, they even held hands for a little bit.

Highlight of the week:

Karen- It was so exciting to meet my sweetsie little niece and see my little sister being a Mom.

Kenny- Seeing our girls side by side was really special.  It is a blessing that they were born so close together and we look forward to them becoming really close friends.

Product we’re loving:
Karen- Our little bath sponge has made a re-emergence since we returned the little baby bathtub to Neil and Julie. We had been bathing M in the little tub in the kitchen sink all this time and now she is in the big girl bathtub on her little sponge.  She really seems to like stretching out in there and kicking her little feet all around.  She especially loves to splash Daddy!

Karen- Things are going really great, I feel so thankful that M is healthy and happy, even with our little struggles I can’t help but feel incredibly blessed.

Kenny- If we are in the car and it gets dark outside it is a bit of a struggle.  I can’t entertain M with her books anymore.  With the time change darkness seems to come about 5:45 so it isn’t time to sleep, it’s just dark and boring.  We may have to get here a little glow worm or a flashlight for when we’re in the car.

Something we have learned:

Holding our new little niece makes us feel more confident to have baby number two one of these days (no, I’m NOT pregnant).  It’s amazing what having a little practice does for you.  It felt like second nature to pick up this little newborn.

Quote of the week:

Karen- One morning while we were visiting Neil and Julie M woke up early so I was just playing with her, bouncing her on my stomach like she was riding a horse.  I wrote her a little song to the tune of Bonanza…

Bum, da da dum, da da dum, da da dum My Baby
Bum, da da dum, da da dum, da da dum How, I love you!

I love you, yes I do, you’re my sweetie pie!

Bum, da da dum, da da dum, da da dum My Baby

Karen: (seeing our new niece for the first time) aahhh, she’s soooo little!
