My little honey bunny, the weather is turning cooler and it is making for some fun snuggly times for you, me and Daddy. You are so happy and talkative, just cooing and squealing, first softly then loudly, stretching and learning your little lungs and all the fun noises you can make. You are getting so coordinated with your little hands too. You can reach out and grab things (most often sophie your giraffe) and of course they go straight to your mouth so you can test them out. You use both hands together and can even maneuver items around in your hands to get the best angle for tasting.
I am so thankful that God chose me to be your Mommy, I love you so much I just have to hold myself back from squeezing you. We squeal together and I shout for joy that I love you ‘ALL TO PIECES’!
Growth:
-You are growing up so fast sweet baby of mine! Every day you just get bigger and stronger and smarter and more coordinated.
-You now weigh fourteen pounds and fourteen ounces and have nearly doubled your birth weight (7lbs 8oz). Yippee! I’d say that means breastfeeding is going well.
-Dolly girl, you just moved up to size two disposable diapers and are just barely squeezing into your little cloth diapers we borrowed from Aunt Lisa. Daddy and I ordered a BumGenius one size fits all cloth diaper to try out and if it works as well as your little kissaluv cloth diapers we will buy enough to deck you out for the rest of your diapering days (Daddy says you will be potty trained as soon as you can walk).
-Three to six month outfits fit the best right now, it kind of depends on the brand. You have a lot of fun little dresses and cute onesies, but not so many cold weather clothes. We have been dressing you in layers and will probably add some warmer pieces to your wardrobe in the near future. It is so fun getting you dressed all cute!
Eating:
-Doodle Bug, you are still my little champ when it comes to nursing. It is so easy now it is hard to even remember those miserably difficult first weeks when I thought you would never gain weight and you’d still be under eight pounds when you were fifteen years old!
-Daddy and I helped you try out your little bottle a few weeks ago. We warmed up some pumped breast milk and kind of let you go at your own pace. You mostly just chewed on the bottle and basically thought Dad and I were nuts. You only ate about a teaspoon but we will try again in a few days. I’m sure you will get the hang of it pretty soon.
-You are still nursing about every three hours during the day, usually right after you wake up from your naps. You will usually go for a long stretch at night without needing to nurse and Daddy and I feel so blessed that you are a good sleeper. You wake up once during the night usually around 4:00am for a dream feeding and then most often you are back to sleep like a little sweetie.
Sleeping:
-You almost always do really great with sleeping at night. We try to give you a bath between 6:30 and 7:00 and get you all swaddled and snug, then we play your music and Daddy bounces you to sleep and lays you in your crib.
-Sometimes it takes a couple tries to get you completely down for the night, but once you are fully asleep you will snooze anywhere between seven and nine hours before you need to nurse. Then you’ll go back to sleep for a few hours before we start our day around 7:00am.
-You are still taking three naps a day, around 9:00am, noon and 3:00pm. I swaddle you all up, play your sleepy soothing music, bounce you to sleep and lay you in your crib. Once I start bouncing you usually go to sleep pretty quickly, and often sleep for about an hour at each nap.
-The past few days you have been taking some short naps closer to half an hour. Hopefully it’s just a fluke and you’ll get back to an hour or more in a few days.
Play:
-It is super exciting to actually get to play and interact with you more. Grandma helped us find a Baby Einstein Exersaucer and you absolutely love playing in it and looking at all the fun interactive stations. You can spin the three little colored wheels and reach your little hands out to turn the thick plastic pages of the “book”. Your little feet just barely touch the ground, but you sure look like a big girl sitting up in there.
-Bee Bee your stuffed animal bird is still your favorite, she is the quickest to draw out a smile from you.
-Daddy covered your exercise mat with a big blanket to make a fun fort just for you two. He peeked his head inside and listened to your music with you while you kicked your little feet just dancing away.
-You still LOVE reading books. You even help me turn the pages sometimes! You love ‘Touch and Feel Animals’ and ‘Giraffes Can’t Dance’. Daddy and I are planning to add to your little library in the next few weeks.
-Tummy time is getting easier and easier. You are so very close to rolling over, I know you will get it in the next week or so. Once you are on your tummy you start leaning your head to one side and push up with your arm while lifting your little leg in the right direction. You are so very close sweetheart!
-We have been walking almost every day around 10:30 or 11:00am. You are really starting to enjoy your stroller and watching the trees, sky, birds and squirrels. The weather has just been beautiful and it is so fun to be outside for a little while.
Events:
-You went on your very first vacation this month! We took a weekend trip to Tulsa, stayed the night in a hotel and got to visit The Tulsa Zoo, the aquarium, the air and space museum, art museums and gardens and you were just a sweetie pie the whole time. We really had fun!
-You felt your first raindrops a few days ago, we were outside watching Grandpa and a little shower broke loose and started raining right down. We didn’t stay outside very long, but you got to feel your first little wet drops ever. You didn’t seem to mind at all my little dolly.
-You and I got to go to Aunt Julie’s baby shower and celebrate the upcoming arrival of your sweet cousin. You were all dressed up in a pretty pink party dress and just did great greeting all of our friends and family. I’m so proud of you, I sure love showing you off!
-We got to spend a fun morning with Stephanie, Olivia and met sweet baby Logan! I bet you guys will be good friends in the coming years. Olivia just entertained you to pieces and Logan was the first baby you have met who is younger than you are.
We are just absolutely in love with you! We are so thankful that God gave you to us and can’t imagine our lives without you. You are so little and soft and sweet, every now and then I just can’t believe that you are real and not just a precious little doll. It is really fun to see you thinking about things and expressing your little opinion and just letting your personality shine. You are our sunshine and we thank God for you every single day.

Oh my I just want to squeeze her too!! I love the serious look in the first pic, her cute little mouth.
Her pic with the bottle does look like she is thinking “what are you doing? You want me to drink out of this??”
the excitement of the one in the exersaucer is fantastic. I love her little excited face. I don’t know how you get any work done with this cute little thing calling you. It looks like she is doing great.
