M’s week 16

What a happy little sweetheart we have.  She smiles and just chatters the day away.  She is so easy and fun to spend time with.  She is our little blessing.

Neither of us can believe how fast she is growing and learning new things.  She makes new fun noises almost every day.  Her newest thing is purring back and forth with Daddy.  Kenny does a ‘rolling r’ sound and M vibrates her little tongue and does it right back to him.  Super cute!  She is also just right on the verge of rolling from her tummy to her back.

Highlight of the week:

Karen- M and I got to go visit my best friend and meet her brand new little baby boy!  I think this was the first baby M has seen that is smaller than she is.  It was a fun and special visit and M did a great job the entire time.

Kenny- She is almost rolling over from her tummy to her back.  She will tilt her little head in one direction, get one hand lifted up off the ground and then get timid and lean back to the safety of her tummy.  Any day now she will be rolling over.

Product we’re loving:

Karen- I am still really loving her little cloth diapers.  I have had several blow outs recently involving the disposables but never once with the cloth diapers.  We are going to have to look into buying some cloth diapers in the larger size, she is just about to grow out of these little ones.

Kenny- I am enjoying my new cell phone courtesy of my mother-in-law.  It allows me to stay in touch with Karen via text message during the day when we need to.

Karen- Kenny has been working some pretty long days, he has morning duty before school then cross country practice every evening.  It makes for some pretty long days for me too.  On the days he has track meets it is even later.  I absolutely love being with M but when 7:00 or 8:00 rolls around I start wishing he was here.  I am proud of him for working so hard and the season will be over in a few more weeks.

Kenny- I’m just struggling with having time for everything.  I’m deep into cross country season and it is taking up some of my evenings so it is hard to balance things sometimes.

Something we have learned:

Karen- I don’t see how single mothers do it.  I can’t imagine being in charge of everything all the time!  I am so thankful that I have Kenny here so much of the time and he is so willing to step in and help with anything.

Kenny- M will mimic sounds, not all the time, but at times where she is really focused and studying you she will talk back and forth and mimic whatever sound I make.

Quote of the week:

(My Mom, while spending some time with me and M) she is just a little sugar lump!

(We don’t let M watch tv, but I had the KC Chiefs football game on in the background one day) Don’t watch the Chiefs baby, they’ll break your heart
