Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you your heart’s desires.
I am glad to say that ‘take two’ of last week’s Sunday Scripture from Ephesians 4:2 “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love” went much better than it did the first week we focused on it. I think writing it on my chalk board really helps me focus on the verse for the entire week and not just Monday or maybe Tuesday.
I had one especially exasperating event and managed to keep my cool and stay completely patient and gentle. I try to take M for a little drive during the day just so she gets more and more used to her car seat, so I loaded her all up and we jaunted over to Sonic where I got in line to get a half price medium Sprite. M did so great being patient while we waited in the drive thru line. When I finally got to the check out window their debit card machine was having troubles. M and I waited patiently while they got things under control. I popped the straw in my little drink and put it in my cup holder without even taking a swig. We drove on home and I set my purse and my yummy drink on the roof of my car as I hauled M and her heavy carseat out of the back seat. I reached up for my drink and the entire thing tipped over and went slushing down my purse, shirt, legs and the entire side of my car. Thankfully none of it ended up on M.
I quickly reassured M that everything was okay, took a deep breath and took charge. I brought M inside the house while Sprite dripped down my legs and puddled in my shoes. I grabbed a water pitcher and went back outside to rinse off my car. Got myself wiped off and my clothes changed and just laughed that I didn’t even get one sip of that sprite. Oh well, it was a fun little outing for my sweet girl.
This weeks verse that Kenny and I are focusing on is Psalm 37:4, Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you your heart’s desires. I keep feeling so very thankful for all the blessings that God has provided. He brought me such a wonderful husband who is my perfect match in every way. He protected our sweet baby and brought her to us at the exact right moment safe and sound, and one of my biggest desires, to be a stay at home Mom, is being provided in an amazing way that can only be attributed to the Lord. I feel so humbled and thankful that He knows my heart. You know what? He knows yours too!
