This beautiful hibiscus was discovered while on our recent visit to The Philbrook Museum while we were in Tulsa for Kenny’s birthday. Our first visit to this museum was in December so needless to say there weren’t many flowers in bloom, but this visit was right at the height of flower season. We were astonished at all the gorgeous blooms to be seen. This hibiscus was one of the biggest we have ever seen. It was especially fun because it has two little buds just ready to burst beside it.
I really like the way the vivid fuchsia in the center of the flower pops agains the light blush pink of the exterior petals. It makes for an interesting picture. Kenny likes the interesting shadow areas on the far left side of this photograph. It is the shadow of neighboring leaves.
Kenny said he will get an updated post on The Philbrook Museum on here soon and hopefully you will get to see even more of the lovely garden.
