This pink rose photograph was taken at a wonderful park and garden that we visited recently. It has been such a hot dry summer that very few of the roses were actually blooming at this point. So this bright pink perfect beauty really stood out. It was like a diamond in the rough. Karen actually said the words “Beauty and The Beast” referring to all the dried up blossoms that were near this beauty. It was encouraging to see the two little buds right near this bright rose too. Maybe there will be a few more roses once it cools off a little more.
I think this picture follows the rule of thirds pretty well and I really like the symmetry of the rose itself. When God is the designer it is hard to get a bad shot right?
Have you guys been to any pretty gardens lately? What is your favorite flower to photograph?

I don’t know if they’re still the same but Karen loved the purple flowers at the entrance to the St. Louis Botanical Garden. It is a really well done garden. I’m glad you got the chance to go!
