Bumpdate: 18 weeks

18 weeks pregnantHow Far Along: 18 weeks, 2 days

Total Weight Gain/Loss: I’ve gained seven pounds so far. It’s not fun to see that scale going up, but if it’s for the baby then I’m okay with it.

Maternity Clothes: Oh my goodness gracious YES!! My sweet older sister Lisa has kindly loaned me some of her beautiful maternity clothes and my Mother-in-law and Grandmother-in-law took me on an unbelievable shopping spree at Motherhood Maternity and just spoiled me rotten. I got some amazingly cute outfits and can I just tell you maternity pants are so incredibly comfortable!

Gender: We should find out here in about a week (wow!). I have been guessing and feeling ‘boy’ from the beginning but Kenny is convinced it’s going to be a little girl. We’ll be happy either way as long as they are healthy.

Movement: I just started feeling movement everyday around week seventeen. I am just SO in love with these sweet little flutters and twitches and kicks. Every time I feel one I just smile and thank God for this little blessing.

Sleep: I still feel exhausted most of the time. Kenny is really sweet about letting me crash on the couch about 8:00 while he takes care of the laundry and doing work around the house. He always gets the bed straight and cozy and wakes me up to get a comfortable night’s sleep.

What I miss: Energy! We are trying so hard to get our home remodel finished up before the baby arrives. It makes it extra hard to feel motivated to work when I don’t have much energy to begin with. I crave a Dr. Pepper every once in a while but I’m trying my hardest to not have any caffeine so… no Dr. Pepper.

Cravings: I can’t get enough fried okra, I could eat it at every meal! I have also been weirdly enjoying lemons. Like peel a lemon and eat every slice, yum! Kenny keeps teasing me that our baby is going to come out sour.

Best Moment this week: All the precious baby movements, I have been waiting and waiting to actually feel some movement that I was POSITIVE was the baby. This week has been so fun feeling the little sweet thing move all the time!

Sounds wonderful to me. I remember my first pregnancy. It is an exciting time. You are doing great with your weight gain. Can’t wait to find out if it is a boy or girl.
    Love you always
