Number 1: Grand Prismatic Spring Yellowstone National Park

Grand Prismatic SpringPhotograph number 1 is a picture of Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone National Park.  Karen and I had just walked through the boardwalk at the Midway Geyser Basin and seeing those hot springs close up is very special.  However, getting more of bird’s eye view of the springs gives a whole new perspective.

If you have never been to Yellowstone you need to put it on your bucket list.  As my wife Karen kept saying over and over on the trip, “Yellowstone is like visiting another planet.”  I highly agree with her, so much that I would not mind living that way for a couple of years just to be able to soak it all in and then that might not even be enough time.  Karen was pretty beat and after walking the whole boardwalk I wanted to take the other hike up to the hills next to Grand Prismatic Spring.  Being the trooper that she is she walked with me on the second hike even though she was tired.  When we got to the point to walk up the hill to see the Grand Prismatic Spring in its entire splendor, she declined.  I do not blame her we had already walked a lot that day.  I made the hike up took some quick photos and my best one became my favorite photograph in my short amatuer career.  I have since then, told her the next time we go we will walk up the hill first before we go on the board walk, which she just smiled and laughed.

I hope you enjoyed my top 25 photographs, which you can see in its entirety by clicking here.  In a few years, I plan on revisiting my entire picture portfolio and I am looking forward to seeing which ones will still be in my top 25 or as I am hoping I will have take many more photographs that will make this top 25 pale in comparison.

I really like this picture. Everytime I read your blog and look at your wonderful pictures. I say “I want to go there.” Thanks for sharing your photographs. I think they are wonderful. I don’t know how you could get much better. They are great just the way they are.
