Number 6: Yosemite Valley

Yosemite ValleyNumber 6 is a photograph of Yosemite Valley in California.  A picture of the Valley in Yosemite National Park is the shot on every photographers list.  It is kind of like getting the photograph of Delicate Arch in Arches National Park.  The photograph has El Capitan on the left side and Bridalveil Falls on the right, and the Merced River running in front.  The three icons of Yosemite National Park are included in this photograph, the only thing that is missing is Half Dome.

Karen and I took a great vacation along with her parents in Yosemite National Park.  We spent three days in the valley and this was the one day when we had constant sunshine, and of course it was the last day we were there.  There is nothing like ending a vacation on a high note!  Karen and I had split up that day and I did some short hikes by myself.  Karen was having some knee problems and the constant winding turns getting into the valley had given her a headache.

We probably should not have split up, but there were few hiking trails I wanted to take before we left.  I knew that we were not going to be back anytime soon.  I took the trails, got wet all the way to my knees, but I made it to the roadside where I was picked up, but I got my photographs I wanted to take.  On the other hand, Karen and her parents got to see a momma black bear and her two cubs.  All in all, it was a great trip and I hope Karen and I make it back to Yosemite National Park sooner rather than later.
